Job Description Engineer: LDAP, VLANs, VMware (E.G., Building And Maintaining VM Servers) Administration, Hypervisor Network Niche IT Professional

Description:

Responsibilities:
* The Security Engineer II will provide operational support for various security infrastructure components such as firewalls and intrusion prevention systems. As a member of the Security Operations Centers engineering group the incumbent will monitor the operation, performance and security detection capabilities of numerous systems.

Abilities/Skills (candidate should posses most of these):
Ability to identify and resolve complex issues and develop security solutions to meet CareFirsts business and technology goals.
Strong written documentation skills and technical writing are required.
Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively complete tasks with a minimal level of supervision.

Critical skills:
Experience analyzing data from Intrusion Prevention Systems, specifically Sourcefire.
Experience utilizing SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platforms for enterprise wide monitoring.
Hands-on experience with maintaining VMware infrastructure.
Configuration and monitoring of network packet brokers, bypasses and aggregators such as Gigamon or VSS Monitoring.
Thorough understanding of complex TCP/IP networks.
Management of NAS (Network Attached Storage) solutions such as NetApp or Oracle ZFS.
Use of next generation firewalls.
Experience with advanced endpoint security technologies such as Bit9 or Carbon Black.
System monitoring tools for availability and performance optimization.
Metrics reporting
Experience with Python programming highly desirable, but not required.

Possess broad understanding of the following systems/skill sets:
System hardening concepts and techniques
Network and secure remote access controls
LDAP, Unix, Active Directory
Unix, Linux, Web application servers (WebSphere, Apache)
Virtualization technologies (VMware, VLANS, Hypervisors)
Web application servers
