The Business Architect will report to the Manager of Business Architecture and Analysis within the Center of Institutional Effectiveness (CIE). The CIE will be providing Administrative and Functional oversight of the initiative with ORED providing Project Sponsorship and Governance. The goal of the Contracts and Grants Initiative is to improve the service delivery of all phases of Contracts and Grants management across the institution. The project will leverage existing technology platforms and will look to optimize administrative operations to provide excellent service to the academic community. The majority of the work will be spent discovering and redesigning business processes and working with leadership to adjust functional roles accordingly. Job: Business Analyst – Operations Analyst About the Opportunity The Business Architect will be a change agent for the University, helping to redesign and optimize services for the research community. The Business Architect is expected to produce high-quality deliverables with minimal guidance. The successful candidate will be able to translate facilitated discussions and existing documentation into logical business processes and frameworks to empower senior leadership to make strategic decisions on the options available. It is expected that the technical documentation deliverables will be comprehensive yet succinct and will be leveraged by Contracts and Grants management and the project team to organize the change effectively. The Business Architect will work with a small, dedicated team to lead the change initiative and is expected to partner with campus resources and associates from various functional areas as needed. 1. The Business Architect will lead the redesign of business processes and workflow, reporting into the Project “Service Manager” who is responsible for leading the project for the University. 2. The Business Architect will perform research and discovery within the business service domain to learn industry best practices, activity drivers, emerging opportunities and the core value proposition.
