Job Description Architect: Data Analysis, Teradata, SQL, UNIX

Sr. Teradata DBA - Architect w/ MicroStrategy & Informatica experience


Responsibilities
Analyzing requirements with Business partners
Data analysis, design logical data models and physical database schemas
Create database objects for tables, users, roles, profiles, grants, etc.
Add columns, build indexes, and analyze indexes.
Design and implement MLPPI strategies
Stats and index analysis
Performance tuning
Design and monitor alerts, database parameters, and performance metrics
Performs capacity and scalability planning.
Identify innovative, cost effective ways to implement and support physical databases technologies.
Troubleshoot and resolve database, load and reporting issues.

Desired Skills
Ability to consult with organizations in the initial design stages of projects to design systems and utilize best practices into Informatica workflows and SQL scripts
Ability to review and analyze existing Teradata SQL and load processes, identifying improvement opportunities, indexes, partitioning strategies, etc., and make recommendations to improve the processes, schema, SQL, load scripts and processes, etc. Then work with the process owners to implement the changes and document the improvements.
Must be proficient in the full suite of Teradata tools including PMON, TASM, Teradata Manager, Loader Utilities: TPT, BTEQ, MLOAD, FLOAD etc.
Deep understanding of Teradata architecture
Advanced level SQL skills
Experience writing/understanding UNIX shell scripts.
Excellent physical database design, implementation, and support skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong consulting and analytical skills.
Good interpersonal skills.

Good to have:
Data modeling concepts or skills
3+ years hands-on experience with ErWin
5+ years hands-on experience with ETL tools preferably Informatica
5+ years hands-on experience with reporting tools like SAP Microstrategy, etc.
