The Project Manager performs administrative and organizational management duties to advise and assist JIS Senior Management in the development and deployment of technology projects and services as well as evaluating related methods, practices and procedures of these projects undertaken by JIS. The Project Manager will also identify needed improvements, providing administrative and technical assistance and direction to accomplish these improvements. This position requires a multi-disciplinary skill set, as opposed to the competencies typically associated with many IT professionals working within this field of expertise. Responsibilities 1. Runs complex projects from design and development to production. 2. Defines requirements and plan project lifecycle deployment 3. Participates in/leads the development of the Request for Proposals/Request for Information (RFP/ROI) process. 4. Conduct feasibility, risk, regulatory compliance, and ROI analyses for proposed projects. 5. Develops a proposed approach to address a business problem. For example, creating a build vs. buy analysis. 6. Oversees the design, development and implementation phases of the project, coordinating with the customers, vendors, and other relevant areas of IT. 7. Makes decisions regarding day-to-day activities such as assigning and reviewing project tasks, resource management within the scope of the project, and approving deliverables for review with the customer. 8. Works closely with customers and/or business analysts to clarify and document business requirements. 9. Establishes measurement criteria to assess project effectiveness/success 10. Develops a project plan to deliver the proposed approach, including time and cost estimates. 11. Makes project assignments, while providing leadership to the project team, managing project scope and ensuring the quality of the deliverables. 12. Monitors, communicates, and reports project process against project plan, requirements, budget, quality measures, and business results expected. 13. Maintains ongoing communication with customer/stakeholder during the course of the project to ensure that they are up to date on project process. 14. Conducts project close activities (e.g., creates closeout plan and report, arranges for post implementation review). 15. Participates in Change Control activities. 16. Manages vendors in the context of the project. 17. Participates in contract preparation activities. 18. Defines resources and schedule for project implementation. 19. Creates strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning. 20. Plans and schedules project deliverables, goals and milestones 21. Identifies and solves project issues. 22. Creates project risk assessment. 23. Designs and maintain technical and project documentation. 24. Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills Qualifications 1. PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent mandatory. 2. Proficiency in the following MS Project, MS Office and Smartsheets (preferred, not required) 3. Bachelors Degree or higher in Engineering, Technology or related field. 4. Minimum 5 years of project management or IT Management. 5.
