Evaluates user requests for modifications and enhancements to the Division of Hearings and Appeals Proprietary Automated Case Management System (ACES) to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, and computer capabilities. Consults with user to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives. Formulates plan outlining steps required to develop program, using the methodologies of object-oriented development. Captures requirements using industry standard development frameworks and tools. Designs reports, forms and letters along with computer terminal screen displays to accomplish goals of user request. Reviews screens, reports, forms and letters designs with users. Converts project specifications into computer code written in the Microsoft Visual FoxPro programming language. Creates database connection to Microsoft SQL Server and writes SQL queries to store and retrieve data for processing by the ACES software application. Deploys updates to ACES to end-users using an application deployment tool such as the Microsoft Visual Studio ClickOnce application deployment tool. Creates Visual FoxPro code to send data from SQL Server to XML format and reads data into Microsoft Word templates to generate letters. Writes Visual FoxPro code to set file attributes of Microsoft Word documents for upload to Microsoft Sharepoint document repository list view. Writes queries and stored procedures in SQL Server to retrieve, store, and manipulate data for ACES functionality. Assists users to solve operating problems. Releases updated versions of ACES and deploys the updated version to end-users using an application deployment tool. Maintains source control version history and roll-back update to previous version if system fails. ***Hours are flexible, approximately 20 hours per week, with an opportunity to pick up extra hours to work on additional projects. This position will work at the Division of Hearings and Appeals, 5005 University Avenue, Suite 201, Madison, WI 53705.
