This resource needs to be proficient in looking at stored procedures from a table design or procedure design perspective, and not only recommending and finding shortcomings and proposing optimization opportunities, but also being able to validate those recommendations once implemented – his take is a SQL developer from Maxs team would be someone taking direction from this guy – while the SQL developer would be working on writing stored procedures – this Lead DB Engineer would be taking more of a hands-on lead supervisory role – He needs this resource to be able to help SQL developers when theyre stuck: guide them, you can design the table this way, re-write in this capacity, etc. On the Engineering side this resource is building the clusters, making sure the replications are in place, implementing the monitoring frameworks and alerting based on our needs.
