Initiate and lead architecture design sessions with other SMEs; meet with impacted teams to get their input and own final design Coordinate , develop , and ensure delivery of the project architecture design and security management plans Identify candidate services (enterprise web services) Prepare the project architecture documentation for review by the Enterprise Architect (multiple stages) Address any gaps or recommended changes as directed by the Enterprise Architect Document and seek approval for any major architectural decisions Schedule and deliver required architecture presentations to a wide audience Lead the architectural change management process Manage technical change control for signed off design in coordination with the Project / Program Manager Collaborate with the Development Lead to ensure conformance to the project architecture during delivery Provide input into testing requirements WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE? At least ten (10) years of experience in solution areas such as application design and development, application integration, middleware, database management or operations, information security, technical architecture Strong Java technical expertise at a detailed level sufficient to guide the specific work products of other Java developers along with the ability to perform code reviews Strong expertise in retail systems, in particular experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and corresponding architecture is preferred Expertise within large global retail environments Capable of representing IT for the technical direction of large projects with business stakeholders at executive levels Progressive and extensive responsibility working directly with modern, large-scale enterprise application implementations Proven ability to develop and document solution designs Understanding of architecture constructs (architecture & design patterns, web services and integration, databases, software development practices, infrastructure and networking principles) Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; solid time and project management skills; ability to work as part of a team as well as independently, ability to juggle multiple projects with competing priorities, strong ability to take initiative while working comfortably with ambiguity Analytical ability and strong judgment in creating, analyzing and reviewing application solutions with complex requirements Understanding of architecture principles, frameworks, methodologies, and practices Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
