Position Description: -Design, develop, test, maintain and support performance monitoring and alerting systems, network management systems, ICS work management system, and IT discovery and mapping systems. -Primary daily responsibilities include working with business units to define and implement monitoring thresholds and standards for all supported systems (including Enterprise and Business critical systems such as SAP, WMIS, Exchange, Stream Server), ensure IT work management tool supports IT business processes, defining and documenting new business processes. -Periodic work responsibilities include project work to implement systems upgrades, implement new functionality, or support other projects or initiatives that require performance monitoring and alerting. General Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: -Diagrams and evaluates existing processes, develops metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities. -Provides consultation on the use of process improvement techniques to increase process efficiency, introduce automation wherever possible, and elevate service quality. -Assists with the collection of information related to system outages to identify root cause of problems, and measures performance against process requirements. -Assist in the development of production readiness checklist -Assist in the development of alert action plan for support on monitored events -Resolve or escalate issues, assisting business areas with gap analysis -Actively participate in projects to implement system upgrades, implement new modules or functionality, and/or support other IT projects or initiatives that require monitoring or alerting. -Responsibilities required to complete this often include stakeholder requirements gathering, business process design, vendor management and support, documentation, and training. -Coordinates with business and technology teams, ascertaining system requirements to build out data center deployment worksheets. The following qualifications are required for the position: -3+ years experience with various network management systems and IT work management systems and in-depth experience supporting and troubleshooting a multi-server environment. -Experience operating & configuring and Enterprise Monitoring Systems such as HP Openview, Megasis Telenium, Splunk, or others. -Experience with Change Control and Detection tools such HP Application and Inventory Discovery and Dependency Mapping (DDM a/i). -Experience with systems management & administration with an in-depth understanding of operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, Solaris, Unix/Linux. -Understanding of hardware fundamentals including servers, network equipment, and storage systems. Able to make specific hardware recommendations based on I/O-bound, memory-bound or processor-bound apps. -Experience in creating end to end system monitoring & reporting solutions using the companys Network Management Systems. -Strong SNMP and OID experience to be able to implement monitoring solutions when agents cannot or are not installed for performance monitoring -Experience operating & configuring IT Work Management Systems such as HP Service Manager. -Familiarity with IT Service Management concepts and practices and ability to apply them to ICS business processes and support them in IT work management tool. -Knowledge of standard applications including MS SQL, Oracle, Apache, IIS, Tomcat. -Experience in c   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
