Provide advanced level technical product support of Middleware technologies including response to user questions, installation, perform some programming and may be responsible for script writing. Recognized as expert in field, knowledgeable of emerging trends and industry practices. Facilitate and perform the delivery of technical services including the preparation of cost justifications, application requirements, system monitoring, testing, problem diagnosis/tracking/resolution, and routine maintenance. May alternate solutions, and technical recommendations. Conducts the most complex and vital work critical to the organization. Works without supervision with complete latitude for independent judgment. May mentor less experienced peers and display leadership as needed. Typically requires 15 or more years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education. Minimum Requirements: Education: Bachelors degree in computer science or engineering related field or Associated degree with 2 years system administration related experience or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years system administration related experience. Experience: Minimum of 8 years Middleware Administration related experience (in addition to any experience identified above) Our client is seeking a senior level Middleware Administrator accountable for implementation and support of Java Application Server solutions within a large scale distributed environment. This position requires a diverse range of skills including expert experience in Java support with hands-on experience configuring Oracle WebLogic Server, setup of SSL, configuration of Apache, and an emphasis in root cause analysis. Principal Accountabilities: Install, configure and support WebLogic and SOA Suite products in a large enterprise environment. Includes: - Planning, configuration, and testing of new installations - Management of SSL Certificates - Configuration of Node Manager, Machines, Clusters and Domains - Support of JMS, including distributed queues, clustered JMS implementations and foreign JMS providers - Support of Apache HTTP Server with WebLogic Plugin - Monitoring the health of WebLogic servers using Oracle Enterprise Manager, scripts and third party tools - Day to day administrative support of the environment Provide problem analysis and troubleshooting for WebLogic issues and related system components. Includes: - Log Analysis and Error resolution - Thread dump analysis Provide performance tuning and capacity planning. Provide assistance in the delivery of technical services including the preparation of cost justifications, application requirements, alternative solutions, and technical recommendations. Provide and maintain technical documentation, policies and procedures related to Middleware infrastructure and updates as necessary. Perform 24x7 on-call support on a rotating schedule.
