The qualified candidate will help bridge the gap between the infrastructure and applications teams and provide monitoring and administration to the current technology stack. This person will be working with a variety of technologies and will have to be highly organized with the ability to learn new technologies on the fly in order to manage the entire technology stack. Position: Senior Middleware Engineer Duration: 1 year contract Location: Sparks, MD area Technical Landscape: IBM WebSphere (currently v6 moving to v8), Oracle WebLogic v10/11, IBM MQSeries, Apache Camel, Apache Kafka, Talend, Windows, Linux Responsibilities: Daily Operations and Project support, including Deployments, Patching and Upgrades Ensuring monitoring, alerting and reporting on all IT Platforms Ability to identify operational bottlenecks, performance and security issues and other caps in core platform and give valuable input to mitigate Evaluate new platform features and provide input to operational middleware design On call support in a 24/7 environment Requirements: 5+ years experience engineering and administering large scale Middleware environments Extensive experience with WebSphere and WebLogic PowerShell and/or Shell scripting Willingness to dive deep into emerging state-of-the-art technologies. Experience with monitoring systems. Ability to help automate processes through Middleware stack Exceptional organizational skills Databases and Business Objects a huge plus.
