Job Description Developer: Windows 2012 R2, Nagios, IT Professional, ERP Developer

LOCAL Candaidates Only

All candidates must be a US Citizen, have permanent residence status (Green Card), or an H1-B Visa.
All candidates must have lived in the United States for the past five (5) years.
Cannot have more than 6 months cumulative travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)

Description:

The client seeks Splunk/Nagios developer Using the Splunk/Nagios monitoring tools to develop dashboard capabilities by collecting performance and system status from various systems. The project involves reengineering and modernizing USPS Informed Delivery monitoring and reporting capabilities. This position at USPS will involve implementing state of the art solutions for modernization.

Note: Resources must be onsite in Merrifield, VA. No remote work.

Responsibilities:

5+ years designing and engineering dashboard displays using USPS Splunk or Nagios Enterprise Monitoring tools which gather performance information and system status from various sources such as log files, databases and spreadsheets
Target dashboard displays for various audiences (i.e., executive roll-up, manager, engineer)
Automate email delivery of reports via scripts

Required Skills:

3+ Years of experience using Enterprise monitoring tools Splunk and/or Nagios, working with data collection for enterprise monitoring
Proficient in retrieving data from SQL and Oracle databases
A minimum of 2 years of Windows 2012 R2 server experience in a multi-user production environment
Experience monitoring on multiple platforms including Windows and Linux
Experience collecting alerts and logs from servers, storage and network locations
Must be proficient in writing and maintaining batch jobs
Must be able to communicate effectively, work in a team environment.
Working knowledge of networks, servers, and storage

Preferred Skill:

Working knowledge of virtualization in a VMware environment is a plus
