The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering and maintaining an information security program that safeguards information assets against unauthorized use, disclosure, modification, damage or loss for the university. This is done through the following: 1. Educating the campus community about security related issues 2. Providing proactive security analysis 3. Designing, developing and implementing a robust security architecture 4. Assessing current policies and developing new policies 5. Assessing the current state and providing alternatives to mitigate risks 6. Assisting in strengthening technical measures to protect campus resources 7. Developing mechanisms to react to incidents and events that endanger the Universities information assets Administrative responsibilities include: Establishing and maintaining a security organization Developing an integrated security program that supports the accomplishment of the University?s strategic goals and priorities. The selected candidate will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer and will receive guidance and direction from that office as well as guidance from the Chief Information Officer, Legal Affairs Department, Internal Audit, Police and Public Safety, the Dean of Students Office, the Registrar?s office , Committee?s and other functional areas to define, develop, implement and modify policies, regulations and guidelines that impact Information Security and have University wide impact. Institutional policies could include credit card/Ecommerce, Password Regulation and regulatory requirements. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Required Qualifications ? Master?s Degree Preferred but minimum of a Bachelor?s Degree ? Minimum of seven (7) years experience in information technology of which at least 5 years are specifically in information security ? Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) ? Experience managing projects to align divergent security policies, processes and infrastructure ? Experience managing major security infrastructure projects that focused on IT auditing, applications development and /or data modeling such as: o Introducing automated tools to assess vulnerabilities o Developing reporting scripts to improve effectiveness of audit and routine operations o Deploying internet filtering technologies across a global infrastructure ? Broad understanding of two factor authentication, PKI, IDS, firewalls, certificate based wireless NAC, data modeling, database design and management, Windows 2008, SQL, SQL Server, OOD, OOP, encryption ? Excellent communication skills (including: verbal, written and interpersonal) ?
