The candidate will help to manage central services framework, control data warehouse, and corresponding feeds and reports As a Senior Developer, you will have the following responsibilities: Database queries, tuning, stored procedure creation, and views Experience developing in core JAVA Experience in Data analysis / data specialization and gathering user requirements Prior experience in Investment banking. Working with reporting / data mining tools like Splunk, Spotfire/Composite, Business Objects and Tableau Work with US and Asia counterparts to implement a global strategy for data warehouse Pro-actively improve the quality of systems and service, and increase business value Person Requirements Unix / Linux experience SAP Business Objects or Spotfire Data analysis and requirements gathering UNIX Oracle / Netezza database experience is mandatory (including SQL, DML, DDL) . Prior experience in Regulatory Reporting a plus Understanding of the SDLC process Strong communicator and be able to interface with IT teams and front office. Good oral and written communications skills Basic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Management or related discipline or equivalent experience 5+ years development experience within the financial services industry. Preferred Qualifications: Very strong and confident communicator in both verbal and written communications. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, should be able to multitask and switch gears quickly Ability to understand the business context of requirements and apply to the task in hand. Ability to work under pressure to deliver to committed timescales. Encourage active involvement of the team in suggesting improvements to productivity and quality. Leadership in developing staff to broaden the scope and effectiveness of their roles. Strong basic technical skills with demonstrated ability to learn further. Exemplary team player. A good understanding of the investment banking business will be an advantage. Good understanding of best code development and deployment practices. Preferred Technologies J2EE design and develop using Java Server stack. Proficient with of object relational mapping tools such as Hibernate. Database design and develop using SQL Server 2005/2008 Working knowledge of core JAVA Working knowledge of Coherence Grid Caching JUnit able to follow continuous integration, test driven development approach using JUnit and Cruise Control Ant/Maven able to develop and run build scripts using Ant.
