This is a hands-on role with primary focus on leading and supporting development teams with production issues and pre-production environment issues. 1. Operational Support Production a. Provide support for Loginapp and OAM Installs b. Provide dev support and direction to prod monitoring V checkout matrix , alarming , Introscope c. Primary development point of contact for troubleshooting production issues. Engage the development team when necessary. d. Primary point of contact for off release tasks e. Production log reviews -- i. Regular review of logs for errors ii. Detailed metrics around LoginApp and OAM transactions iii. Develop insights into how our platforms perform in production iv. Research production issues for individual customers (such as why can customers not login) f. Managing 4L queue i. Set up a 4L process ii. Set up a CQ queue for teams to open tasks and prod issues (LoginApp Production Research queue) iii. Identify the root cause for prod issues iv. Drive issues to resolution v. Collect metrics and trending of prod issues 2. Pre-production efforts a. Troubleshoot pre-production issues b. Primary contact for other development teams when they encounter issues with our applications or during automated regression c. Support the BEST team with pre-production installs i. Set up Discovery session with BEST teams ii. Work with project leads and BEST team to prepare impact assessment iii. Coordinate with BEST team on SIT environment provisioning. Perform validation and smoke testing of SIT environment d. Coordinate builds and code pushes in pre-production e. Review logs files for pre-production before release is signed off f. Track Fortify and Sonar scans g. Create impact assessment reports for production deploys in coordination with dev leads h. Handover to Operational Support i. Handover OVO alarm documentation, troubleshooting guide and Impact assessment ii. Prepare a checklist and process to ensure proper handover 3. Infrastructure projects a. Lead Spring/JDK and Oracle upgrade projects b. Streamline validation process around infrastructure projects. These upgrades happen every year and we should apply a consistent set of practices around these projects. c. Attend infrastructure roadmap meetings 4. Build up a knowledgebase a) Document commonly occurring issues and resolutions b) Socialize with PSG c) Build a support Wiki/Sharepoint Minimum Qualifications 6+ years hands-on experience in configuring and supporting Java/J2EE applications. In-depth experience in configuring, deploying and performance tuning J2ee applications in a high volume, high availability environment. In-depth experience in build tools like ant, maven and source control systems like Subversion. Prior experience with deploying and supporting large scale applications. Working knowledge of relational databases frameworks. Experience creating SQL queries Familiarity with all facets of SDLC - ranging from inception to deployment. Hands-on experience with SOA testing tools like SOAP UI or Jmeter.
