Understanding the design considerations for star schemas and its relationships. Understanding the concept of data rollups/aggregation, capacity planning, data standardization, slowly changing dimensions, and data security Key generation, basic table sources, etc. Concrete familiarity with OLTP-to-OLAP processes. • ETL development: Informatica & DataStage: Multiple project experience in Developing/Optimizing/ Performance Tuning with Informatica & DataStage. Ability to communicate design considerations using these tools. Practical experience in loading data, troubleshooting mappings, tuning mappings, etc. • Database: Teradata or Oracle Multi-terabyte data experience, demonstrates the basic ability/understanding to design data structures, performance tune data loads and ability to read/write BTEQ, PL/SQL. • UNIX: Proven experience with reading and writing Shell Scripts (ksh). Ability to navigate, edit/find files, check disk space, and transfer files. Knowledge of performance monitoring tools in the UNIX environment. • Communication skills: Must have the ability to communicate effectively with business and technical users in both an oral and written manner. Must also be able to demonstrate ability to troubleshoot technology and business problems. Provide insight based on previous experience.
