Requirements: Consideration for this opportunity will go to candidates with the following attributes, skills, and experience: Strong experience writing, tuning, and analyzing queries and stored procedures Demonstrated proficiency in managing large and complex data sets in relational databases (MySQL experience is preferred) At least 5 years working with relational DBs in a production environment (MySQL experience is preferred) Real world experience managing high transactional volume DBs servicing OLTP and DSS applications (MySQL experience is preferred) Solid understanding of RDBMS internal architecture, demonstrated experience with relational database design, implementation, performance tuning, debugging, optimization, monitoring, and capacity planning. Demonstrated experience with Open Source/Linux development and production environments Experience with enterprise backup, restore, recovery and archiving strategies Hands on experience with designing and implementing complex database replication strategies Excellent practices around planning, communicating, performing, and verifying production changes Significant experience in technical aspects of database security - Experience designing and implementing complex DR and high-availability/failover solutions (Tungsten Continuant, Percona XtraDB Cluster) - Extensive experience building, supporting, and troubleshooting multi-tier, high-volume, production database systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be willing to participate in on call support rotation Self-motivated, capable of managing your time well, and work efficiently without close supervision Must place a high value and take personal ownership of extremely secure, highly available, fault-tolerant systems Proactive in identifying and resolving technical challenges Enthusiastically troubleshoot problems when they occur Thrive as a collaborative team player Preferences: Familiarity and experience with PCI compliance BA/BS degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent field Certified MySQL DBA is a plus Experience with TalenD Experience with Percona toolkit, Xtrabackup, XtraDB Cluster, patches, and custom builds Screening Questions from the Hiring Manager: - What are 3 basic joins and what they are used for? - inner join returns records where match exists in both - left join returns all rows from left table and only matches from right - right join returns all rows from right table and only matches from left - What are the steps in using a prepared statement? - set , prepare , execute, deallocate prepare - Where do you find query bottlenecks and how do you evaluate the slow qu   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
