This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of various tasks related to our Web Application initiatives plus supporting the development effort in modernizing our Legacy Web Apps to execute on the DevOps platform. This transformation process will utilize DevOps principles and reusable APIs (application program interface) along with REST (Representational State Transfer) services/Microservices. This contractor will perform data analysis, design, development, testing and implementation for task assignments using key standards of NIEM (National Information Exchange Model) and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) along with integrating development processes related to DevOps (Development and Operations). This position will also provide a continuous integration and continuous delivery of Web Application solutions for our business users. This resource provides Java and JavaScript framework skills to develop custom in-house applications needed by our divisions for offender management. In addition, this position also provides critical support to existing applications and mentors junior members of the team. As we move to a DevOps operating model, we need this skill to help us jump ahead while still providing applications and support to our customer base. Existing resources are busy and have little time for learning new technology AND developing applications. This position will come to DOC with the skills of the new technologies and assist us in this transformation to our new development platform.
