Position Description: The Application Support Specialist will work in a fast-paced organization, providing deployment support for the production environment. The deployment support and troubleshooting will be concentrated around applications and the application platforms and to a lesser degree around OS and hardware. Responsibilities: 1. Ensure that the applications are available 99.95% 2. Deploy code and content to production environments during a maintenance window (after normal business hours) which will occur on a rotating basis 3. Take ownership of the incident and problem management process 4. Define and implement mechanisms needed to ensure availability 5. Provide timely and meaningful updates to the business and management on projects and issues 6. Take accountability for the day-to-day operations of the production environments 7. Provide off hours coverage as needed (deployments or other projects) Qualifications: . Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent experience . 5 or more years in IT, 3 years in infrastructure or application support . Excellent communication skills (both technical and non-technical), Process training/communication, must be able to remain objective while under pressure to perform . Ability to have in-depth conceptual understanding of a multi-software/platform landscape . System administration experience with Linux in a VMware environment . Good understanding of database technologies (ideally MS SQL and Oracle) . Exposure to Fatwire Content server would be valued Skills desirable: Linux , Java, MS Server Admin, Network knowledge, VMware, Fatwire Admin, Apache/JBoss, ESB exposure; experience in JBoss Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) troubleshooting and tuning   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
