Description:

4 Scope of Services

The candidate in this position will be responsible for database administration of FDOTs various database platforms including DB2 for z/OS, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Azure SQL, and MongoDB. The candidate will be the lead database administrator for FDOTs Oracle databases. The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of database objects to meet system(s) requirements. The candidate must be able to understand and demonstrate the ability to develop database and warehousing design across multiple platforms and computing environments. The candidate must be able to work as part of a team to assist in developing and supporting an overall data architecture that supports the Departments needs and meets administrative rules and other applicable standards.

5 Education

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field or experience to correspond to the required years.

6 Experience

The candidate must have skill and 10 years combined experience in database administration for the following database platforms:
1. Oracle 10g and above
2. DB2 for z/OS
3. SQL Server 2012 and above
4. Azure SQL

Additional Experience:
1. Experience with data integration tools including Informatica
2. Experience with data modeling
3. Experience with COTS or SaaS on an Oracle platform

7 Primary Job Duties/ Tasks

This resource will primarily be tasked with performing Database (Oracle, SQL Server) planning and operational activities including, but not limited to the following:
1. Daily operational and database administration activities
2. Plan, design, implement, support for database structures
3. Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning
4. Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation
5. Perform SQL Code reviews
6. Assist with training/mentoring other technical staff
7. Perform other database or infrastructure activities as requested

The submitted candidate must be able to apply common knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
1. Advanced skill in installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading Oracle on Windows platform
2. Advanced knowledge of database monitoring and tuning processes
3. Advanced knowledge of backing up and recovering databases
4. Advanced knowledge of database security
5. Advanced knowledge of database design
6. Advanced knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
7. Advanced skill in Oracle SQL developer
8. Basic skill in installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading SQL Server
9. Basic skill in operating system platforms
10. Basic ability in designing, migrating, optimizing, and managing cloud environments
