Job Description :

REMOTE POSITION. CANDIDATES MUST HAVE RECENT EXPERIENCE IN THE BANKING INDUSTRY

CANDIDATES THAT LIVE NEAR AND CAN TRAVEL TO THE WEST COAST PREFERRED


GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES





· Establishes database management systems, standards, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables, such as conceptual design, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, data maintenance plan and security policy.

· Creates and maintains all aspects of application databases. This includes creating and maintaining the database instances, deploying database scripts for incremental releases, access control, monitoring and tuning for optimal performance, assisting developers and testers with any database or data related access, designing and developing ad-hoc database scripts.

· Maintains end-to-end ownership of database related activities.

· Adapts business requirements, developed by business systems analysts/modeling/development staff and develops data, database specifications and table and element attributes for an application.

· Models databases and develops tables, stored procedures, views, triggers and other database objects.

· Maintains database dictionaries, monitors overall database standards and procedure, and integrates systems through database design.

· Works closely with other developers to integrate databases with other applications.

· Provide leadership and/or guidance to other technical professionals with regards to database technology

· Other related duties assigned as needed.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in computer science or information systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

·

· Strong technical knowledge of Oracle as a DBA

· 5-6 years of Oracle DBA experience desired

· Strong knowledge of SQL and other scripting tools

· Sound knowledge of Oracle RAC and Oracle replication technologies

· Moderate to good skills in database tuning

· Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles, i.e., waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development

· Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external customers

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors

· Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills

· Is resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas

· Ability to estimate work effort for project sub-plans or small projects and ensure the project is successfully completed
