Consults with District end users on computing needs. Assists users in problem analysis and provides technical support. Analyzes and evaluates systems including hardware and software products to meet needs of users. Ø Works with other technical staff to understand problems with software and develops/implements solutions to resolve them. Ø Provides support in the migration of server/application workloads from one location to another. Essential Qualifications/Experience: 3+ years of enterprise-level server support experience including database support (Oracle, SQL, MySQL, Informix and DB2), web technologies (Sun One Web and Directory Server, ColdFusion v8/v9), Operating systems (Windows and Linux), Security (application, operating system, group policies), Terminal Services, performance tuning (WebTrends), and creating best practices. Ø 2+ years building and troubleshooting system/application/infrastructure experience Ø 5+ Years IT experience. Ø Proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows and Linux. Ø Practical experience and knowledge in administering the following technologies and tools: o ColdFusion v8/v9, Tomcat o Sun Java System Web Server, IIS and IHS o Database technologies (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, Oracle 10 and DB2 v9) o Operating System Environments (Windows and Linux), infrastructure services (backup, DHCP), SAN technologies, Virtualization (VMWare) Ø Ability to write clear and concise technical documents. Ø Ability to clearly document a process or procedure for others to follow. Ø Ability to be relied upon to complete a task or project with minimal supervision.
