Our delivery leads count on MDAT Data Engineers to complete moderately complex tasks and to resolve important issues. MDAT Data Engineers operate with limited supervision when working on assignments in their area of experience and responsibility, but are expected to continually expand their experience and skills to proficiently support more aspects of the data warehouse solution. MDAT Data Engineers must demonstrate good time management and communication. They produce work products that demonstrate quality, efficiency, and effective use of standards and procedures. They assist in peer reviewing work products and share knowledge with less experienced team members. General Responsibilities Supports a limited number of Client data warehouse sub-systems, works on multiple assignments concurrently, and completes work in queue by assigned due dates with limited supervision when working in an area where they have existing experience. Performs design and development activities, testing, and deployments in an agile product delivery environment. Works in close cooperation with project managers and other functional team members to form a team effort in development. Researches and resolves simple to moderately complex issues as assigned. Uses one or more intermediate technical skills (Ex. SQL, data warehouse concepts, ETL & OLAP reporting, etc.) and actively works to expand technical skills to increase support responsibilities. Combines technical skills with knowledge of Texas Medicaid systems and business processes to deliver effective solutions. Proactively provides status on assignments in a clear and concise manner highlighting key activities impacting solution delivery. Identifies problems and escalates to the supervisors attention with sufficient lead time to avert crises. Participates in pager/on-call support, deployment of production releases, and introduction of new services into production environment. Considered a SME for at least one Client data warehouse sub-system and actively works to expand SME to support additional sub-systems. Produces work products of high quality that demonstrate use of applicable standards. Assists in peer reviewing the work of others. Limited client interaction both written and verbal with supervision. Reports time biweekly into appropriate time tracking mechanism in an accurate & timely manner consistent with project & employer guidelines. Proactively completes all compliance training courses in a timely manner.
