Job Description : Long story, short- Advisors is migrating from DB2 to Exadata and the current project is going really poorly- the Datamart (DBs) is also a big issue. Biggest problem is that the PL/SQL Stored Procedures created by the offshore teams are written very poorly and the operating time to pull out the data is crazy long. They need an expert in performance tuning to come in, look at their system and optimize the SQL to improve the operating power. They will also develop and document standards for the move forward development of the 12-24 month project. Strong experience tuning and refactoring Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. Expert in database performance tuning techniques such as partitioning, compression and indexing. Ability to run, review and tuning using Oracle explain plan. Good verbal and written communication skills a must. Resource must be capable of working both in a request model where application teams ask for assistance and also in a proactive model, analyzing existing workload to identify problem queries and reaching out to consumers to assist in refactoring statements. Provides support for Oracle application development and database design staff. Role will work with application development team members and DBAs to identify and remediate problematic SQL to reduce execution time and database load. Additional work with data modeling team to identify areas for database improvement including changes in indexing, partitioning, compression, etc. Individual will be responsible for documentation of best practices for SQL and PL/SQL development and tuning and working with modeling team members to enhance modeling standards.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
