Notes : Manager is open to relocation candidates Interview process is a phone screen and a Skype interview - INTERVIEW times on 7/11 and 7/12 after 2pm Description: This position will augment an existing data services team that will focus on multiple database technologies including MongoDB, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL, as well as Cloud technologies. The position will also require you to migrate existing on-prem databases to the public cloud (e.g. AWS, GCP, etc.), execute data retention policies, automate and integrate tooling to support database management and deployment tasks, troubleshoot and performance tune databases activities in all lifecycles. In addition, this position will be required to migrate a multi-terabyte MongoDB cluster database to the public cloud with focus on security, encryption, disaster recovery, accessibility and performance. This position will also build a MongoDB MMS Ops Manager system used for backups, monitoring and maintenance. This position will need to setup a centralized area within the cloud that will be used to build out and maintain various databases using various database platforms including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and others. This area will be used by various Microservices and become the new location for various on-prem database migrations including MongoDB. Responsibilities: • Essential Database administration - install, configure, upgrade, back up, and monitor MongoDB databases. • Architect and implement solutions that solve complicated database and application problems, including application performance, scalability, and security. This includes schema, index and key design and enterprise application architecture. • Support Development teams to optimize and standardize database changes through builds and deployments in an Agile release management model • Develop automation for deployment activities related to database changes • Expertise in database architecting, engineering, and administration including configuration, implementation, data modeling, maintenance, redundancy/HA, security, troubleshooting/performance tuning, upgrades, database, data and server migrations. • Test, tune and deploy database changes • Tune and troubleshoot database operations • Capacity planning and disk space management • Troubleshoot Linux/Unix operating systems for database performance • Design and present technical recommendations or analysis • Document and share database best practices and procedures • Provide strategic planning and support for migration to public cloud environments Required Experience: • Must have a minimum of 7+ years of solid hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of MongoDB including analytical function is required • Migration of MongoDB databases, preferably to the Cloud • Building and maintaining MMS Ops Manager for backups and monitoring • MongoDB database software upgrades • Knowledge of MongoDB Sharding and Replicas • Implementing Server/Database level encryption • In-depth background in Database Security • Must have minimum 5+ years of solid experience of Database Tuning. • MongoDB and Oracle required • Ability to optimize database parameters • Understanding of database administration and management • Understanding of database architecture for high availability and disaster recovery • Experience with backup and recovery strategies and techniques • Experience with database security and controls • Experience with database metrics and monitoring • Ability to troubleshoot database issues and provide recommendation •   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
