Job Description Developer: PHP, HTML, XML, SQL Javascript

[Note : Must be strong with Wordpress]


Contribute to the development and deployment of web-based applications ranging from large standalone web applications to small plug-ins for content management systems. Work with the project team to determine scope, provide effort estimate, make recommendations on appropriate tool set, develop the application programming code, collaborate with QA on testing and bug-fixing, and assist with implementation and deployment. The developer assists the project team in problem solving and troubleshooting complex software questions while working to fulfill identified business goals. Act as technical resource to IS&T staff members who produce internal application help, TechWeb pages, FAQs, training and other support materials. Collaborate with IS&T Training Manager to provide training for IT Help Center, clients, and IS&T applications maintenance team. On smaller projects, perform and execute multiple phases of the development process in order to create BU websites with integrated application components.

Required Skills

Requires: B.A./B.S. required (Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field is preferred), a combination of experience and/or education within areas of required skills and technologies may substitute for specific degree requirements. Ability to set and achieve goals in a complex and fast-moving environment, expertise with different programming languages and different programming paradigms (e.g., procedural, object-oriented, functional, etc.), experience with WordPress and expertise with source control, XHR (AJAX), and pear, expertise with HTML, XML, CSS, PHP, SQL, JavaScript (have strong understanding of both the language itself and its DOM bindings in the most popular web browsers), and Java as well as in server-side web-application programming, preferably with multiple languages (e.g., PHP, Java, JavaScript) and in multiple frameworks and five years of experience in web applications development.
