PHP Jira Agile Software Development Consultant (Jobs in Upper Lake, CA)   Requirement id 97341 Job title Consultant Job location in Upper Lake, CA Skills required Word Press, PHP, Jira, Agile Software Development Open Date 05-Sep-2019 Close Date Job type Contract Duration 12 Months Compensation DOE Status requirement --- Job interview type ---    Email Recruiter: coolsoft Job Description Consultant: Word Press, PHP, Jira, Agile Software Development Description Day to Day job Duties: (what this person will do on a daily/weekly basis) * Work with a multi-faceted global team to provide 24x7 site support; monitoring of the site * Provide incident/request ticket handling for the .com site using JIRA or other ticketing based controlled tool * Be able to have ongoing client conversations on the business requirements of the site, be able to document the change requests (at both a business requirements level and technical level) and lead the implementation & deployment of the same * Be able to support end-to-end QA activities of the site, and deployment activities (including roll backs, if applicable) * Be friendly, confident, and communicate clearly with the client regarding the strategy of the change request tickets requested / required * Be open to learning new PHP platforms and tools (such as Magento 2.0) * Be in a position to mentor other resources whom may come onboard the team for a period of time during a more expansive project (eg 4-6 months) and roll off at the end of a project * Consistently work with other team members (across the US and India) to provide site support, DBA work, infrastructure enhancements, and project & support based work Basic Qualifications: (what are the skills required to this job with minimum years of experience on each) * Minimum 5 to 8 years experience in software development and IT consulting. * Experience gathering client requirements and managing expectations * Ability to manage and mentor a small team while continuing to contribute and complete work * Familiarity using Wordpress as a content management system and enterprise website platform * Experience with latest versions of Wordpress and of PHP * Experience developing web solutions in Wordpress; including coding new WordPress themes, page templates, and plugins from scratch and modifying existing themes and plugins * Strong knowledge in PHP web frameworks * Experience in managing full stack Wordpress environments and PHP implementations; such as in a LAMP environment * Ability to architect enterprise Wordpress solutions including data, display, and information architecture * Advanced site-building experience including deep familiarity with advanced Wordpress modules * Experience creating custom Wordpress modules, theme layers, and Form APIs * Experience building responsive websites using Wordpress CMS, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery and common contributor modules * Experience with tools such as Git, Jenkins, Apache * Experience developing and consuming REST web services * Familiarity with SASS/LESS, Bootstrap * Knowledge of PHP, PHP files and theme functions, and knowledge of the PHP/Wordpress theme layer * Through understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing). * Experience with Agile or iterative SDLCs methodologies * Familiarity with JIRA or Agile ticketing system and Confluence or other collaborative workspace * Strong Communication skills with both internal team members as well as customers. Able to effectively communicate with third party collaborators to jointly contribute to the projects success.
