The project manager will be responsible for overseeing high level requirements definition, RFP, software selection, and implementation under the guidance of the Chief Information Officer. This is a two-phase project, beginning with timber scaling, which includes mobile data collection and central processing components. The second phase of the project is to replace the timber settlement function currently based on custom development within Microsoft Dynamics NAV with a configurable COTS solution natively integrated with the timber scaling system. Responsibilities include: - Manage high-level requirements gathering and RFP development - Manage multiple contractors in implementation of the selected COTS software solution - Manage integration of the selected software with existing client systems as necessary - Coordinate requirements gathering, design, testing, and implementation activities - Coordinate requirements, design, and testing workshops - Identify and mitigate project risks and issues - Develop monthly project status reports - Communicate project status to project team and stakeholders - Lead weekly project team meetings and periodic stakeholder update meetings Although the Estimated Completion Date on this PSO ends with the termination date of the state IT Services Contracts on June 30, 2021, the intended term of engagement for this position is until December 31, 2022 as client extends this PSO. This non-binding intention is not an obligation on the part of the State and depends on contract administration actions optionally to be taken by the State Division of Purchasing outside the control of the issuing agency. A limited amount of in-state travel (including overnight) will be required to attend internal client meetings and workshops. Principal work location is clients Coeur dAlene Staff Office, located at 3284 West Industrial Loop, Coeur dAlene, Idaho. Agency Expected Deliverables The project manager will coordinate with the CIO and project stakeholders to: - Collaborate with the Business Analyst, IT staff, and the business to develop the RFP used for vendor solicitation - Coordinate the implementation activities of the contractors selected for the project - Monitor contractor performance in meeting contract deliverables and budget - Monitor and adjust project schedule to ensure delivery by project milestones - Align project resources to meet project schedule - Identify and mitigate project issues and risks - Oversee work of software implementation vendor and internal client project team - Coordinate data migration and go-live activities Specific Skills Required (Programming languages, databases, operating systems, etc.) Experience: Four years plus of project management experience Education: Four (4) year college degree or equivalent technical study Description of skills and knowledge required include: - Experience planning, developing, implementing, and monitoring complex enterprise system implementation projects - Experience successfully interacting with key stakeholders to encourage participation in and support of complex initiatives - Basic working knowledge of natural resource management terminology and concepts preferred - Basic working knowledge of timber industry preferred - Basic working knowledge of financial software preferred   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
