This includes, specifically: Creating a modular way to manage OS configurations per application, using a configuration tool, to build reliable and automated infrastructure Installing the OS over the network, to allow installation of many systems without physical installation media from a single source Storing OS images for deployment to fielded products so that OS can be installed over the network. Enabling the ability to install the OS without wiping hard drives, so as to expedite the install process. Enabling the ability to install patches and security updates over specific recurring time periods, to ensure the system has the latest application and security updates. This person will be working on the Development Team and reporting to the Director of Software Engineering. This person will not be doing the traditional SUSE Linux Systems Administration, but they will be configuring the Kernel, adding packages, removing packages and disc arrays. Requirements: Approximately 5 to 7 years SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) Engineering experience. Candidate must be available to work on site, 40 hours per week.
