The successful candidate will be working through a great deal of bioinformatic data to produce a data catalog and making decisions on what to do with the data – retain, archive, move, or delete. Responsibilities: Interact with research collaborators to understand data needs Inventory data assets and create data catalog Communicate with teams and product owners to assess business impact of data catalog decisions Move data to system of record as appropriate Discover and remove duplicate, repetitive or uninformative files Archive infrequently used data Skills / Experience: Education and experience: B.S. in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, statistics or a related field with at least four years of experience; Experience in next-generation sequence analysis and genomics data interpretation Competency in Linux and Python programming is required; proficiency in statistical languages such as R is a plus. Competencies: Demonstrated ability to quantitatively evaluate and analyze scientific problems and work efficiently with large volumes of data.
