PROJECT/SYSTEM OVERVIEW

Client is seeking an individual that is skilled in the testing of large-scale projects, skilled in writing and implementing detailed test plans and quality management plans and is familiar with software verification and validation.

3. SCOPE OF WORK

The Software Engineer (SE) will assist the Client project team with the development of the application test plans and test scripts based on Requirement Definition Documents (RDDs). The SE will work with the Client project team in the implementation of the test scripts and the reporting of the results. All testing will be done both in concert with the vendor and independently of the vendor to ensure that the vendors software, developed processes and resultant data are acceptable and to ensure that the software covers all of the various criminal history and fingerprinting tasks encountered on a daily basis.

The SE will also work with interfacing systems and external agencies to assist with the development of test plans and test scripts, assist with the implementation of those test plans and assist in the reconciliation of results.

The SE will utilize the experience gained during the development and implementation of the test processes to assist with the training of all SPBI users and assist those same users after system implementation.
Specific Services Required

Gain an understanding of the AFIS and MNI-CCH project history.
Gain an understanding of the existing systems and business processes to obtain a clear picture of the current state and its deficiencies.
Review and become versed in all of the Requirement Definition Documents (RDDs) and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for the MNI-CCH/AFIS replacement project and its interfaces.
Assist with the verification and validation of all vendor project deliverables.
Assist the SPBI and DESPP project teams in the identification and the development of the test scripts
Perform functional, integration, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and System User Acceptance Testing (SUAT) using the developed test scripts.
Work with the DESPP project Database Administrator (DBA) in developing SQL scripts to verify that all insert, update and delete actions performed on the screens or performed in the batch cycles results in the data being correctly inserted, updated or deleted
Thoroughly document all testing issues utilizing screen shots, test scripts, SQL and step-by-step documentation of the events that led to the issue.
Assist the SPBI Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with testing using the developed test scripts and assist the SPBI SMEs documenting test issues.
Assist the SPBI SMEs in verifying that all modified data is correct in the database
Assist with the planning and running of the regression and parallel testing
Assist the DESPP project team with the implementation of the new system and assist the SPBI users with production questions and issues.

Required Skills/Experience

Software Engineer (100% LOE)

Functional, Integration, System and User Acceptance Testing

Quality Control/Assurance

Working knowledge of SQL (SQL, T-SQL or PL/SQL)
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio)

Business writing and documentation
Excellent verbal communication skills

Understanding of Application/Process Design, Development and Implementation
