This Front-End Engineer will develop hybrid Video On-Demand applications for the DPG using the latest in front-end technologies. The qualified candidate must have strong experience with front-end development using HTML5 and popular JavaScript frameworks, including Angular and React. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and maintain the HTML5 and JavaScript-based Hybrid VOD applications of the Digital Platform Group Take visual mock-ups and deliver optimized implementations using a variety of technologies including CSS, HTML, Ajax, Javascript, React and Redux Use expertise of front-end development practices, software design principles, OO concepts, SEO optimizations and UI design and general best practices Develop and maintain performance-optimized, cross-platform markup in CSS, HTML, and JavaScript Establish and maintain front-end application best practices and standards Develop functional prototypes to demonstrate concepts and to enable rapid iterative support for evaluative research QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years developing with advanced front-end Web Technologies including, Javascript, HTML5, CSS, and DOM based development 3+ years developing with leading JavaScript frameworks (Backbone, Angular, React, Vue etc..) 2+ years developing with Node.js Has a solid understanding of build tools like Grunt, Webpack, Gulp, Broccoli or Parcel Tests their code with tools like Jest, Enzyme, Mocha, Jasmine or QUnit Strong understanding of RESTFUL APIs Exercises rigor in automated testing, code quality, and engineering best practices Balances being product focused and engineering quality minded Understands and is thoughtful about tradeoffs Leverages and contributes to open source Experience with front-end optimization techniques (both in file weight and perceived/actual page rendering speed) Adept at creating semantic, clean HTML and using CSS to separate the markup from its presentation Advanced understanding of AJAX frameworks, REST and JSON Clear understanding of object-oriented application building experience Solid experience with cross-browser and cross-device compatibility Knowledge of security regarding common web site vulnerabilities Full stack development background A good eye for design   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
