This includes installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all data network systems and services, firewalls and load balancers. The associate will have responsibility to analyze and resolve telecommunications issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and support user needs where required. Responsibilities: Manage and administer telecommunication data infrastructure including the associated hardware and associated software. Encompasses: Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Content Delivery solutions, VPN solutions, WiFi infrastructure, VSAT, QOS, VOIP and WAN Optimization. Design and manage telecommunications projects in accordance with telecommunications roadmap. Develop, implement, and maintain procedures, and training plans for telecommunication systems administration. Work with end users to establish service level agreements based on user requirements. Monitor and identify capacity and performance issues to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of data telecommunications systems. Design testing to detect faults, minimize malfunctions, and backup systems. Develop and maintain DR processes for data telecommunications infrastructure. Assess need for any system reconfigurations (minor or significant), make recommendations, and execute them as required. Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of telecommunications equipment procurement and development efforts. Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure communications products and services in a timely and professional manner. Interact with managed service vendors to ensure the best solutions are implemented in a manner that meets or exceeds the Carmax IT Methodology Tier 2 Technical resource for complex data related issues. Provide guidance to junior members of the team. Position Requirements: 4 - 6 years in depth technical telecommunications experience including: Working technical knowledge of Advanced Routing/Switching protocols, the OSI model, High Performance Routing, WAN Optimization, Content Delivery, Multi-cast, Network security, Remote user access. Strong communications skills and experience working with managed service vendors. Strong hands-on knowledge of the installation, implementation, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment. Working technical knowledge of current telecommunications best practices, protocols, and principles. Project Management experience including research, prepare, and present cost estimates, budget reports, capacity forecasting, and systems upgrade recommendations.
