Senior Technical Specialist/Lead: Functions at the expert level performing analytic oversight and governance activities to control and manage the areas of product release, quality assurance, and configuration management for changes to and development of software products in the CalPERS production environment, and may act in a lead capacity on complex projects or may participate with other analysts on projects of a complex nature or broad scope. *Must possess a minimum of five (5) years experience in project work, monitoring and controlling product baselines and the processes supporting release, and testing of software applications including change and version control; at least three (3) years of said experience must have been at a high level both technically and in measure of responsibility. *Must have experience building and managing project plans. *Must have strong experience in the analysis, design, development, installation, implementation,procurement, and/or technical support duties within specified data processing systems, multifunction office automation systems, microcomputer systems, and/or teleprocessing networks. *Must be able to analyze data and situations; identify and solve problems; reason logically and draw valid conclusions; develop effective solutions; apply creative thinking in the design of methods for processing data. *Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others. *Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a variety of audience types using different mechanisms including informal updates, formal presentations, business case documents, and other analytical and technical documents. *A strong background, knowledge and experience in technical testing of highly complex systems *A minimum of five (5) years of experience performing test planning, test preparation and test execution activities. *A minimum of five (5) years of experience transmitting data using standard messaging protocols (i.e. Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) over Hypertext Transfer Protocol, Secure (HTTPS) and Web Services Definition Language (WSDL), and flat files via middleware technology (i.e. JCAPS). *A minimum of five (5) years working cooperatively with business and IT professionals, gaining trust of team members and customers, and communicating clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing *Three (3) to five (5) years of experience managing/coordinating test activities for a complex, large scale enterprise application *Three (3) to five (5) years of experience with HP Application Lifecycle Management, IBM ClearCase, and IBM ClearQuest *Ability to work flexible hours and weekends *Desired Skills: *Knowledge of CalPERS lines of business *Experience testing the my|CalPERS application *Knowledge of Service and Validation Test Framework (V-Model) *Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) *Experience calculating retirement benefits *Experience with Payroll Reporting and Processing *Experience with General Ledgers *Experience with Financial transactions *Experience testing large-scale pension application *Experience testing complex interfaces *Experience testing infrastructure changes *Recent experience testing web-based applications that utilize current web technologies such as Java or ASP.net   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
