This position will perform system integration quality assurance, business analysis, and communications. This position will serve as a member of the Application Development Team under the Division of Libraries and Technology. The Applications Development Team is responsible for enterprise architecture, development, system testing, analysis, and maintenance of systems that capture, interrelate, and report data. This includes but is not limited to applications that focus on finance, budget, and data collection and reporting. These systems require extensive knowledge and experience in developing complex applications, reports, and relational databases. This position is likely to be involved with the maintenance and enhancement of the departments largest and most complex enterprise applications. This person will be a member of a team practicing the Agile/Scrum development methodology. The Applications Development Team is responsible for developing and maintaining a statewide data collection program called WISEdata. The WISEdata system is responsible for capturing data from public school districts, charter schools, and private choice schools in Wisconsin. WISEdata gathers information needed for state and federal reporting requirements. The WISEdata system is also a tool that improves the quality of school and educational data. WISEdata functions using an application programming interface (API) which creates the interoperability protocol for educational software used by school districts. Data collected via the API is also used to feed other vendor systems which streamline data collections and reduce redundancy. In addition, the WISEdata system provides the data used by DPIs WISEdash business intelligence and reporting system used for public reporting and by Wisconsin districts and schools. This position is responsible for vendor communications and coordination in order to meet the agencys strategic goals and initiatives, promoting educational data systems interoperability. This position is also responsible for providing systems analysis, research, and documentation, managing vendor certification testing, performing quality assurance, business analysis, and second-level customer services support.
