Note: Email Submission Note: No More Than 1 Candidates/Per Vendor Note: Vertical: 3.0 Architect Classification: Senior Technical Specialist/Lead Submission Deadline: 2/6/2020 5:00 PM Start Date: 2/17/2020 End Date: 9/30/2020 Client: California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) Description: Project Scope/Tasks The scope of this project encompasses the following tasks: As a member of ESDDs Solutions Architect (SA) unit, the consultant will undertake duties and responsibilities as an Application Architect and Senior Technical Specialist and provide ongoing support for Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems along with development of enterprise level solutions that integrate across applications, systems and platforms. The consultant will also provide a leadership role for the Web Development team encompassing all aspects of application design and development, interfaces, secure programming, scalability, and system performance and will lead IT project initiatives involving new technology, defines web technology architecture, and creates roadmap to achieve approved architecture. The work primarily involves the understanding of the solutions and coming up with Technical architecture that aligns with existing enterprise architecture and meets the needs of the business users. The consultant(s) will act as an Application Architect and a Senior Technical responsible for system defect analysis and resolution; review the design of the other developers to ensure solution meets the solution/architecture guidelines set by SA unit. Additional duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: performing analytical work; defining technical requirements; creating or updating existing technical design artifacts for online, batch, report and interface processes, business rules, forms; analyzing data and providing SQL data fixes and database structure changes and participate in implementation and release communication activities. Consultant responsibilities also include ensuring that all work performed under this agreement will comply with CalPERS Information Technology Services Branch (ITSB) policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines. Consultant support activities include providing solutions to the business problems, application architecture, application development, implementation, and post-implementation release support; triaging complex technical and infrastructure issues, providing automation assembly, system, End-to-End, and CAT testing support. Consultant is to submit to the contract manager a written monthly status report as part of this agreement and provide knowledge transfer to staff before end of contract. Qualifications Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience performing architecture quality assurance for complex projects and initiatives; performing enterprise applications integration (EAI); defining and developing shared services architectures; designing and developing component architectures; and/or defining enterprise technology architectures; at least three (3) years of said experience must have been at a high level both technically and in measure of responsibility. Must be able to analyze data and situations, identify and solve problems, reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and develop effective solutions. Must be able to apply creative thinking in the design of methods for processing data. Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
