COMS is critical to the departments operation, every business unit in the agency uses the system on a daily basis for their own unique and complex business processes. Additionally, data from COMS is shared with other state agencies, law enforcement, counties, federal government and the public. COMS has undergone several version upgrades over its 15-year life to accommodate changes in legislation, case law and Department of Corrections (DOC) policies. Most recent efforts address technology obsolescence. MN.IT Services @ DOC is seeking an experienced developer with Microsoft technologies to support the recent efforts of addressing the technology obsolescence within the majority of the COMS modules so that they are aligned with current business, security, accessibility and legal requirements. The COMS project plan extends thru 2023, depending on funding. Sample Tasks • Apply advanced software development experience and skill to accomplish project objectives. • Work independently with minimal guidance while also participating on project teams. • Prepare and participate in release readiness for software development deployments to the TEST and PROD environments. • Prepare and participate in continuous process improvement efforts. • Provide clear, concise and honest communication. • Provide other DOC development, as needed. • Provide knowledge transfer. Minimum Qualifications • Three (3) engagements of 7 months or longer with different organizations using ASP.NET MVC, with UI implementation using Razor and CSS. • Three (3) engagements of 7 months or longer with different organizations using Entity Framework. • Four (4) engagements of 7 months or longer with different organizations using C#.NET Application Development. Desired Skills • Experience with SQL Server (T-SQL). • Experience with Angular 8+. • Experience with .NET Core 3.0. • Experience with Javascript, JQuery, or AJAX. • Experience with Bootstrap. • Criminal Justice experience. • Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience. • Collaborative software development team experience up to at least 4-5 team members, using TFS (Team Foundation Server). • Experience in system modernization efforts for applications with a technology obsolescence.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
