The Scrum Master is a servant leader for the agile team and ensures that the agreed-upon agile process is properly followed. This can include educating the team on numerous frameworks and methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming, and SAFe. The Scrum Master will bring the Essential SAFe, methodology to teams within the State of Utah and update teams agile practices throughout the State of Utah. This will assist the teams to become more predictable. * The Scrum Master guides the teams through planning their iterations and scaling them up to the release planning level as well as organizing the PI events that require certain pre-work for better PI outputs. * The Scrum Master assists the Product Owner in managing the backlog and helps them with prioritization and estimation methods to define a healthy backlog. * The Scrum Master is expected to be a Lean-Agile Leader and helps the team embrace SAFe Core Values, adopt and apply SAFe Principles, and implement SAFe practices.? * Facilitation is a core expectation for this position. Facilitation of events, like the Daily Stand-up, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospectives are key responsibilities of this role. * This role will ensure the team maintains healthy relationships, by handling internal conflicts and challenges. Conflicts arise but being emotionally intelligent and keeping the dynamics healthy helps the team to move ahead. * This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with other Scrum Masters, management, and stakeholders to help the team stay aligned with the committed goals, and promote improvement towards the overall development of the Value Stream.
