This position contributes to Starbucks success by developing, implementing, and sustaining manual and automation testing, practices, and controls in support of application and system requirement, development and test activities throughout the software development and sustainment lifecycles. Recommends quality improvements to automation requirements, development, and execution, and facilitates the development and implementation of test automation frameworks.



Story Behind the Need – Business Group & Key Projects

· This CW will be reporting to the manager of software quality assurance for the HCM & WFM WA team, though the teams functional lead will help with and direct most of the work.

· Theyll ultimately roll up to support the Partner Technology organization for Starbucks.

· Communication will mostly be with the HCM team and some communication with other teams that use the same environment (mostly communication will be with the core team).

· The team is composed of a mix of partners and non-partners of mostly SDETs.

· The hiring manager is looking to add this resource to augment the additional workload of the team.


Top 3 must-have hard skills

· SDET with mainly UI and some API automation

· 2+ years of Python experience

· Experience testing Payroll and SAP.


Typical Day in the Role

· Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

· Develops, maintains, and executes automated test scripts.

· Develops, maintains, and executes tests and metrics.

· Develops, maintains, and executes manual testing as needed.

· Write and review test strategies, test plans and test cases based on the agile stories and/or product requirements.

· Interact and collaborate directly with software developers, product managers, and business analysts to ensure proper development and quality of service applications and products.

· Interact with SDETs, QA members and technical leaders to understand systems and component specifications and recommend changes to facilitate efficient and effective testing.

· Participate in efforts to share testing technology and expertise within the company.

· Perform tasks efficiently and work together with team to ensure project success.

· Participates in tool analysis, creates proof of concept models, and makes recommendations to support the tools selection process.

· Creates and manufactures test data needed for execution or database population.

· This CW will be 100% dedicated to the Payroll Process Automation and Uplift project

· Potential for extension is too early to tell at this point, but the team is optimistic

· The team is also good about rolling existing resources into new projects (potential projects may include cloud, azure, etc)

· The team has mostly hired QA CWs in the past



Key experience:

· SDET with mainly UI and some API automation

· Our UI automation is being done in Python, so they must have some experience with that.

· Experience testing Payroll and SAP.

· Must be OK with a blend of manual and automation testing.

· Must be able to drive and own the testing/defect resolution of their assigned areas.

· Some black box testing will be required
