This team is a fast paced, highly collaborative agile team focused on providing stable software platforms used for data warehousing, analytics and business intelligence in support of all AEP business users. This is a vastly growing department full of opportunities. Daily job duties would be focused on maintaining existing application platforms used to support Analytics at AEP. This will include installation and configuration of software, migration of applications between environments, setup and maintenance of application security, identifying opportunities to automate processes, as well as continual upgrade and enhancement of existing applications. Candidate Requirements: Ability to perform after-hours support if/when needed Interest and ability to cross train on multiple tools Ability to edit files, use basic utilities and commands, navigate through the file system, install software. Knowledge of basic sql commands Good communication skills a must, admins require both written and verbal skills. Ability to document processes Strong analytical skills Independent learner – troubleshoot independently with team support available Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues Detail oriented Ability to follow instructions Basic knowledge of databases and what is required to connect to them Basic knowledge of environment variables and how to set them Additional skillsets that would be of benefit: Experience working as an administrator with business intelligence tools such as: Informatica Cognos IBM Information Server SAS Motio Familiarity with Unix (AIX), Linux (Redhat), and or Windows and its commands/utilities at a user level.
