As of Tuesday, September 7, 2021, Candidate will be required to work on-site 5 days. Also note that while there is technology in the role, this is a Data/Statistics centric role. Data analyst to oversee data management and analytics for NJ Department of Health, Division of Epidemiology, Environmental & Occupational Health. Responsible for compiling and organizing vaccine and communicable disease data, analyzing data to assist in delivering optimal data management, and communicating their findings with management. The data analyst is a quantitative specialist who understands the business needs of an environment that supports testing, case investigation and contact tracing surveillance, containment and mitigation of communicable diseases, and how to use data to assist the department to achieve its tracking needs. The duties include organizing and managing large and varied data sets, analyzing data to optimize business operations, and communicating findings using data visualization and detailed reports. Data analyst responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle analysis - requirements, activities and design. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements. Data Analyst Responsibilities: • Compiling, researching, organizing and interpreting data; and analyzing results using statistical techniques. • Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. • Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases. • Analyzing data to assist in delivering optimal data management and decision making. • Using data to achieve administrative needs and goals. • Understanding data storage and data sharing methods. • Investigating data to find patterns and trends. • Understanding Vaccine, communicable disease and ELC business operations. • Converting data into usable information that is easy to understand. • Developing reports and presentations, based on analysis, keeping in mind the end users requirements. o Presentation of findings in the form of graphs, tables, charts and multimedia presentations. o Communicating analytic insights to management. • In some cases, performing data mining tasks, for predictive or forecasting purposes. • Design and maintenance of databases, including security issues. Data Analyst Requirements: • Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst. • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques. • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), and programming (including experience with at least two of the following: JSON / XML, HTML and JavaScript, and ETL frameworks). • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, Tableau, SAS etc.). • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings. • Analytical mindset with good problem-solving skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
