It combines with parent company On Assignment to make it the 2nd largest IT staffing agency in the country. It has an opportunity for a Desktop Engineer/Architect role located in the Andover, MA. This is a 6 month contract to hire position and the pay rate is flexible depending on experience. Here are the details: Position: Desktop Engineer/Architect Location: Andover, MA Duration:6 months contract to hire Day to Day Responsibilities: Ultimate ownership of the architecture and design of MKS “Gold Image” including Windows 10, Office 365 Pro Plus, disk encryption, anti-virus, etc… Responsible for Windows 10 and Office Pro Plus update channels and strategies for testing, pilot and production roll outs. Azure AD/Intune management, especially regarding MDM and other device management strategies. Perform as a subject matter expert on solutions implemented and provide tactical roadmaps for EUC space. Research and integration of new desktop technologies. Participate in design, implementation, testing and launching of end user technologies. Presentations to Sr. IT and business leadership regarding tactical decisions to defend recommendations and collect feedback to ensure IT alignment. Collaborate with cross-functional partners (IT personnel, support outsourced providers, consultants, technology suppliers and MKS business users) relative to the implementation of new or revised technologies, capabilities and future MKS End User Tech standards and current environment. Lead efforts to create, test and deploy Enterprise Operating System images. Develop standards for image maintenance and OS refresh cycles. Provide documentation, training and knowledge transfer to strengthen our support team. Documentation and communication of configuration changes in support of the change management process. Microsoft 365 administration. Responsible for researching industry trends and developments and how, why and when to incorporate technologies into the global MKS enterprise vision. Requirements: 3-5 years desktop engineer/architect experience Design, develop, t-shoot the Gold or corporate image in a WINS 10 environment Large/enterprise environment experience (thousands of users/nodes/endpoints) Office 365 exp (administration) Active Directory Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune and SCCM, with practical knowledge of Windows 10 Task Sequencing, driver and BIOS management, patching and application updates.
