Job Description Consultant: SDLC, DB2, JCL, Cobol Microsoft Office Mainframe

Description:

This position requires a high degree of business and technical oriented knowledge with significant practical experience in information systems activities, such as systems analysis, design, modeling and programming. The contract resource should have experience in systems development tools and techniques. This person will have direct client contact so it is necessary that they have excellent communication, analytical and organization skills with the ability to translate business and technical ideas and issues into clear and concise language.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
Required:
? Experience in the programming of application systems
? Strong knowledge of structured programming techniques, system development methodologies and various software to include minimum 3-5 years of full life-cycle development experience using VA GEN, DB2, TSO/ISPF, JCL, COBOL, and Microsoft Office
? Experience with data transfer and interface methodologies between mainframes and mainframe to servers and distributed server environments in a statewide environment
? Ability to produce technical procedures and documentation
? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to translate and communicate highly technical concepts to both technical personnel and non-IT business users
? Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow complex and/or detailed technical procedures
? Ability to work independently and perform job with minimal supervision

Preferred:
? Experience with IBM Websphere, IBM Rational Developer for System z, CA utility tools, CICS, VSAM, Zeke, XPTR
? Knowledge and experience with State Government systems
