The Production Support Analyst position is required for providing Storage Management planning and support functions for the large volume of critical data which is housed and stored on disk arrays and automated tape library systems. Maintaining reliable access to disk data within specified response time objectives is critical to the overall reliability and performance of the environment. This position will monitor and tune storage area network and disk array parameters to ensure adherence to vendor specifications and to achieve expected levels of performance. A major function of this position is to implement and support the tape backup hardware and software infrastructure, IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) management software, and Netbackup operational procedures to facilitate the reliable scheduling and execution of regular system and database backups to tape. It is critical to monitor and manage the backup infrastructure to ensure it is operating at maximum throughput levels so that backup windows are adhered to and that offsite tape rotations objectives are met on a consistent basis. The Support Analyst will set up and manage tape encryption features of the TKLM and KMS software to ensure that data on tapes is encrypted according to company policies and will verify that offsite tapes retention policies and requirements are met. This position will establish and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tape backup schedules and provide daily reports on the status of backup jobs. Will respond to backup issues by analyzing incidents and implementing fixes to address backup failures. Additionally, the Support Analyst will participate in disaster recovery planning and will document and implement strategies to recover critical data and at an alternate site. On a daily basis, will respond to client and DBA requests for data and file restoration from tape. Will work closely with disk, SAN switch, and tape vendors to proactively monitor firmware and microcode levels and perform upgrades as needed to avoid disruptions in data availability. Maintaining the backup software at current code levels and planning software patches and code revisions is a key responsibility. Will proactively monitor disk and tape capacity and recommend approaches to re-claim storage space or plan for disk/tape storage expansion as needed. Will provide regular reporting on disk and tape usage and provide trending and forecasting information. Provide OnCall Support adhering to SLA and manage rotation accordingly -Communicate effectively and manage incident situations while OnCall. -Manage CMB initiation, meeting, and closure -Delight clients through timely Ticket handling, include professional details in ticket, avoid breaches, and close all tickets before 30 days -Reflect all changes in Storage inventory and ensure that all fields are filled in (support transition to Altiris Inventory process) -Perform RCAs as needed and follow-up on action items until complete -Update inventory, complete build checklists, and obtain manager approval prior to turning storage solution over Additional Skills:IBM DS4000-8000, Netapp 3000-6000, Hitachi VSP, Brocade switch zoning, TSM, Netbackup, ADIC i2000, i500, IBM 3584,   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
