Description: Mellon is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to work with our investment model Research team and a small group of data engineer(s) to focus on modernization of its research data aggregation platform. Alternatively the candidate will be involved with integration work between Research and a 3rd party Order Management System. The candidate should have a solid background in business analysis, intimate knowledge of financial modeling concepts, and a solid grasp of technology best practices. The candidate must exercise effective cross-department communication while demonstrating assertive qualities when working with both business and engineering. Seeking an individual who excels at taking initiative while driving execution under specific deadlines. Responsibilities · Communicate with Researchers and Portfolio Managers to capture detailed and specific requirements. · Communicate with Legacy Developers/SMEs to capture complex past implementations and carefully map out stages and processes of data transformation. · Clearly and concisely document current and future workflows. Maintain ample documentation on all work. · Design efficient, modular, and maintainable solutions to complex data transformation problems. * Model and rapid prototype potential solutions in various mediums such as Visio/Excel/World/Access/SQL/VBA to demonstrate and represent proposals. · Become an SME for the data engineer(s); provide concise business and technical specifications. · Collaborate with data engineer(s) to define pragmatic strategic designs and process architecture. · Test, identify, track, and report on bugs. Provide regression testing. · Serve as de-facto Project Coordinator and facilitate meetings and agendas. · Create flow diagrams, wireframes, and mocks-ups as required. · Provide quick and effective data analysis through excel and SQL. · Report up to stakeholders and provide weekly status and progress updates. Requirements · 7+ years of experience as a business analyst in Fin-Tech with a solid understanding of financial modeling. Past work in research or data collection areas is a huge plus. · 7+ years of proficiency with standard suite of data and business analysis tools including advanced knowledge of Excel, VBA, SQL, PowerPoint, and Visio or related Diagraming tools. · Understanding of modern technology best practices, methodologies, and the SDLC. · Experience in SQL, VBA, python, or REST APIs utilization is a huge plus. · Experience in MatLab, R, or other statistical modeling language is a huge plus. · Experience working with OMS systems and OMS interfaces is a huge plus. · Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tool is a plus. · Candidate must be detail oriented with excellent quantitative and analytical skills. · Candidate must be able to pick up new concepts quickly and thoroughly while adding value immediately in a steep learning curve environment. · Candidate should be first and foremost an extremely effective and savvy communicator with the ability to ask the right questions, understand problems, and effectively communicate solutions. · Self-driven and motivated with a strong work ethic are a must. · Experience with proprietary investment systems and 3rd party software including CRD, Aladdin, Bloomberg, FactSet, and BARRA is a nice to have.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
