Essential Duties: Recommend, implement and deliver technology solutions based on analysis and business requirements. Develop process and methodology for test, deployment and maintenance to ensure scalability, consistency and maintainability to decrease delivery time and increase availability. Manage outsource providers for daily operations. Completely manage lifecycle for data protection services infrastructure. Develop logging, metrics and reporting programs to facilitate performance, security monitoring and predictive analysis. Monitor logs, remediate problems for EMC data protection services suite, Rubrik, Cristie, SnapVault, Zero, Avamar, NetBackup and Data Domain. Create, maintain and document data protection services configuration, mapping, processes, and service records. Ensure the development and use of effective preventive maintenance program suitable to meet the operation objectives. Use EMC, Rubrik, SnapVault, Cristie and other tools to monitor the environment and react accordingly. Perform capacity management of data protection services environment Ensure snapshot backups are taken, per File System also ensure backup jobs run at their scheduled times. Coordinate hardware replacements with external vendors Perform disk, nodes, code upgrades on regular basis. Perform Pre-Upgrade Health checks to avoid any potential adverse effects from upgrades. Coordinate down time with Stake Holders to avoid any unintended outages. Review Technical Advisories regarding Known Bugs with hardware/software. Develop project plans with clearly defined milestones and maintain project status. Provide training, guidance and support to the application specialists on data protection services techniques and configuration options. Requirements: Bachelors degree in CS data protection services training or equivalent certifications. 4-6 years of system engineering experience in a 24x7 environment. Experience with the following technologies: EMC data protection services suite, Rubrik, Cristie, SnapVault, Zero, Avamar, NetBackup and Data Domain Strong knowledge of capacity planning, management and best practices in the data protection services environment Expertise of network, data protection services protocols, Internet standards including TCP, UDP, SNMP, SMTP, SSL, PKI , CIFS, NFS, SAN and others. Excellent planning, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to meet designated deadlines and professional business practices and demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives.
