Requires expertise for evaluating exsiting systems and/or new user needs to analyze, design, recommend, develop, and implement information system changes. Complete Description: The contractor will be responsible for the identification, design, development, integration, and implementation of the technical platform upon which a completed application will reside. A Product Specialist familiar with IBM Host Access Transformation Service (HATS) and WebSphere will be required to evaluate existing IBM mainframe application to enhance functionality and make the application accessible from the web. To accomplish this, the product specialist will need to analyze the existing system, recommend a design, develop, and implement the resulting application. This position is full time (40 hours) basis which will be performed on site at either NJ Department of Transportation or the Office of Information Technology. Years of Relevant Experience: 5 plus years Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study or advanced degree Experience and Expertise Requirements: Demonstrated expertise in teaching, mentoring, or conveying technical and functional concepts Experience in developing appropriate work programs and budgets to effectively schedule tasks and assignments Demonstrarted expertise in the ability to to transition business processes into business and technical requirements Experience in the review, analyisis, and evaluation of business systems and user needs Demonstrated the ability to work well with IT and functional areas Familiar with J2EE architecture as it applies to HATS applications Experience in designing IBM Host Access Tranformation Services (HATS) applications Experience in leading and directing the work of others Experience in anticipating and resolving issues Experience in ensuring that all project goals are accomplished according to specifications and business objectives Experience in determining time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve issues in a timely manner Proficient in the use of Rational Application Developer and the HATS Tool Solid knowledge of HTML, JAVA, Java Script, and JSPs. Experience in mentoring and coaching peers Experience in providing knowledge transfer to peers Expertise in utilizing web services Demonstrated the ability to work independently with little direct supervision Examples of Work: Review exisitng documentation and provide analysis Create and maintain a project plan Provides accurate and detailed estimates Identify and track issues, riskes, and action items Anticipate, identify, track, and resolve issues and risks affecting own work and work of the project team Develop contingency plans Develop documentation for turnover of the application to someone else for maintenance Develop an application using HATS which will allow an IBM mainframe system to be accessed from the web Write timely accurrate status reports to management   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
