Youll support and extend running applications & assist in the design and development of new applications. Youll be expected to evaluate and refactor in a rapid manner for every part of our infrastructure. Overall knowledge of designing an application to run on a scalable platform is expected. You will be working in an agile environment, which means test-driven development. We are evolving towards a dev/ops model, with our development teams engaged in monitoring, optimizing and supporting our production environments. The position involves refactoring the Activated Devices product portfolio on Best Buys website. We have many projects running in parallel including Cloud technologies, Infrastructure automation, and SOA REST based web applications. Local candidates preferred. Required Experience At least five years of relevant systems software engineering experience BS/MS in computer science or engineering (or equivalent professional experience) Experience with large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures Developing and designing Spring/Java/Maven/JSON applications Object Oriented Programming and Service Oriented Architecture design using REST or SOAP based technologies MVC application design and development experience Aggressive Refactoring High comfort level with Unix Test Driven Development (TDD). Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit and TestNG or JBehave in particular) Social skills: Good communication and team skills troubleshooting skills Debugging skills using open-source tools (fiddler, advance rest client, etc) Preferred Experience Experience as a Technical Lead on a complex distributed systems project Pair Programming - at times but not real often Infrastructure Automation (Jenkins, Ant) Experience with mobile industry is an advantage.
