Under direction by the IT Security Division, recommend and document security controls appropriate to a public facing 3 tier internet / intranet content and application environment; Responsible for reviewing and analyzing design documentation (Accreditation Documentation) to ensure appropriate security controls are in place; perform security assessments of applications and infrastructure for compliance with policies, standards and best practices. The candidate will work closely with business, development and hosting groups on nyc.gov project; conduct risk assessments and recommended mitigating solutions; document findings which will be presented to stakeholders; and act as a liaison between the security team and the project teams on security issues. We require IT Security Specialist resources to produce or collaborate on the following deliverables: Participation and/or review of the project requirements. Assistance with architecting environment from security standpoint. Creation of the Security Design Document Review of the solution architecture with ITSec engineering team. Assistance during product development, making sure the solution complies with the security policies. Diagramming of the environments, both Logical and Physical. Build-out of the security components in both environments, Logical and Physical. Signing of CSRs for all components that require SSL certificates. Implementation of the firewall rules in the Staging Environment. Assistance with submitting and tracking Production firewall requests. Assistance with submitting and tracking DNS requests for both environments, production and staging. Troubleshooting of the connectivity issues related to the access control. Submitting requests to the asset owners for Qualys scan of their environments. Review, analysis, and interpretation of the Qualys scan results and remediation steps with the asset owners. Conducting of the interim AppScans. Preparing the environment for IBMs AppScan. Review, analysis, and interpretation of the AppScan results and remediation steps with the developers. Assist asset owners with fixing security vulnerabilities. Assistance with developing accreditation document. Assistance with documenting traffic flows through the firewalls and dependencies on external infrastructure components. Review of the document with ITSec engineering team. Remediation of the document deficiencies. Tracking of the security vulnerabilities remediation. MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: * CISSP certification is required; * At least 8 years of experience in security architecture, and one of the following: software development, database management, network management * Experience in application security reviews and/or application security architecture in a public facing and internal environment. * Proficiency in security infrastructure, as well as Web facing applications hosting. * Proficiency in applying host based security; Knowledge in the areas of networking, firewalls (multi-vendor), OS hardening, and web-based applications; * Knowledge of SOA, Web Services, Web Applications, encryption technologies; understanding of networking, TCP/IP, network security infrastructure such as firewalls and IPS systems; * Familiarity with tools such as IBM * Rational Appscan, Qualysguard, McAfee Vulnerability Manager (Foundstone), Fortify; and knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Windows Platform; and familiarity with one or more of the following: Java, ASP.NET, C#, XML, SQL, network programming; * Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication and customer service skills; * Ability to explain technical issues in busines   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
