Description: University of California, Office of the President Oakland, CA Long-Term Contract Application Integration Engineer Position Summary The University of California has launched the Working Smarter initiative which is intended to create a Smarter cost savings and administrative efficiencies through a variety of projects across the UC system. A key set of these initiatives involves the deployment of common administrative systems and shared business processes. The first of several major system implementations will be a common HR/Payroll system for all of UCs nearly 200,000 employees. This position will provide leadership for reviewing new business processes and solution designs to ensure that cross functional teams fully understand the impact of decisions made during system configuration. Job Duties: Serves as a facilitator and expert resource throughout the UCPath PeopleSoft HCM implementation and integration with a focus on Oracle SOA. Develop orchestration flows using SOA/OSB knowledge to interact with PeopleSoft HCM, other UC systems, and third-party service providers using development tools like JDeveloper and Eclipse. Provide leadership for reviewing new business processes and solution designs to ensure that cross functional teams fully understand the impact of decisions made during system configuration. Provide expert technical support for product enhancements and customizations from concept to completion, helping to drive the successful implementation and ongoing production support and evolution of the Oracle Fusion Middleware SOA functionality. Analyze user needs and software requirements for UCPath PeopleSoft HCM implementation to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Determine system performance standards for smooth integration with PeopleSoft HCM and other UC systems Monitor and test integration flows using Enterprise Manger console and JDeveloper. Define and document setup and configuration, data mappings/transformations between systems that are being integrated using XSLT and XQueries. Review specifications and conduct & facilitate fit/gap analysis and design sessions. Participate in other aspects of the implementation ranging from interface and integration with PeopleSoft HCM, other UC systems, and third-party service providers. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Must have expert-level knowledge and experience with Web Services Design (strong knowledge: SOAP/REST, WSLDs, XSD, JSON, Java programming), Development(using JDeveloper, Eclipse IDEs) and Deployment of Oracle Fusion Middleware (Must be proficient in Oracle SOA Suit 11g – BPEL, BAM, OWSM, Business Rules, Messaging and Oracle Service Bus (OSB) – Proxy/business service, message encryption/decryption, connecting to external/3rd party systems) and Oracle SOA functionality. Knowledge of SOA design principals is an essential part of this position. Minimum of 8 yrs hands-on experience in these products, including least 2 years of recent implementation experience. Understand the integration of PeopleSoft HCM with other systems (PeopleSoft Financials, Campus Solutions etc). Preferred Qualifications PeopleSoft HCM Certification. Fluency with PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 system design and configuration, including significant roles in at least 2 major implementations.
