Travel to other UC locations Position Summary The University of California has launched the Working Smarter initiative which is intended to create a Smarter cost savings and administrative efficiencies through a variety of projects across the UC system. A key set of these initiatives involves the deployment of common administrative systems and shared business processes. The first of several major system implementations will be a common HR/Payroll system for all of UCs nearly 200,000 employees. The Senior Technical Systems Analyst serves as a facilitator and expert resource throughout the UCPath PeopleSoft HCM implementation with a focus on Oracle SOA. Participation in other aspects of the implementation ranging from interface and integration with PeopleSoft HCM, other UC systems, and third party service providers may also be required. This position will provide leadership for reviewing new business processes and solution designs to ensure that cross functional teams fully understand the impact of decisions made during system configuration. The Senior Oracle SOA Technical Systems Analyst will define and document setup and configuration, data mappings/transformations between systems that are being integrated, review specifications, and may conduct & facilitate fit/gap analysis and design sessions. This position will provide expert technical support for product enhancements and customizations from concept to completion, helping to drive the successful implementation and ongoing production support and evolution of the Oracle Fusion Middleware SOA functionality. The Senior Technical Systems Analyst will provide advanced daily production support services for customers and ITS, including research and resolution of customer inquiries and requests, Technical configuration of the system, data analysis and reporting, customer training, and on-call services to support effective and efficient production operations of the system. Provides business process expertise by understanding business direction and designing systems that will support key initiatives on integration and Oracle SOA. Provides insight and guidance on Technical designs, and assisting in conceptualizing and communicating business needs into actionable solutions. Works closely with the architecture, technical and business teams to define application requirements, including researching, associating, and translating industry best practices and regulations into University requirements that can be further designed and developed. Translates business requirements into business process flows, high level data models, and other appropriate documents. Gathers and documents requirements; define, document setup and configure system as needed; conduct & facilitate fit/gap analysis and design sessions as required in order to deliver features and functionality to production systems.
